Fireworks are a great way to see the New Year in with a bang - so here's how to watch yours.

Are any New Year's Eve fireworks displays taking place tonight?

Many firework displays across the UK have been cancelled for more low-key events as the country battles the cost of living crisis.

London will see in 2023 with a display at the London Eye.

The fireworks will be watched by 100,000 lucky ticketholders on the Embankment, as well as be shown live on BBC One, as revellers welcome in the New Year to the bongs of Big Ben.

Tickets for the December 31, 2022, event have sold out with the event starting at 8pm and finishing at 12.30am.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan announced the return of in-person fireworks in October 2022.

He said: “I’m delighted that our fireworks are back and Londoners and visitors to our capital will again be able to join together on the banks of the Thames to welcome in the new year.

“The celebrations are one of the biggest nights of the year for our capital’s hospitality industry and an unforgettable moment when the eyes of the world turn to our city.”

The Titanic Hotel in Liverpool is offering customers NYE on the Dock including a firework display on their dockside.

Many firework displays have been cancelled across the UK in favour of more family friendly events.

Manchester's New Year celebrations will not be featuring fireworks.

The council said they could not justify the expense.

Blackpool has ditched fireworks too, instead opting for a family light and laser show on The Blackpool Tower at 5pm, 6pm and midnight.

Events have also been scaled back in Cardiff and Belfast.

Councils may have chosen to limit their budget but there's bound to still be many fireworks in the sky from small local celebrations and festivals across the UK.
